Hemorrhoids (also spelled haemorrhoids), also known as piles, are swollen and inflamed veins in the rectum and anus. They can cause discomfort, pain, itching, and bleeding—especially during bowel movements.
Types of Hemorrhoids:

Internal Hemorrhoids:

Located inside the rectum.

Usually painless but may bleed.

Sometimes they prolapse (bulge outside the anus), especially during straining.

Found under the skin around the anus.
